Join the dynamic team at Insomnia Cookies as an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM), a pivotal role in shaping the future of our bakery operations. This leadership pipeline position is designed to cultivate the next generation of Bakery Operations Managers. ABOMs operate at near-BOM level and are responsible for executing bakery operations with urgency, accuracy, and accountability, all while honing their leadership skills to independently run a bakery.
This position combines hands-on operational excellence with talent development, administrative responsibilities, and team leadership. Acting as a vital extension of the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM), ABOMs must be prepared to take full ownership of the bakery when required. Our Fort Myers, FL store is located at 19800 Village Center Dr Suite 230-B, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operational Execution
• Execute all core bakery operations, including inventory rotation, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and maintaining administrative checklists.
• Ensure strict adherence to product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and exceptional guest experience standards.
• Support ordering, maintain inventory accuracy, and manage shrink control.
• Assist in schedule creation and labor execution to achieve operational objectives.

Talent & Team Development
• Facilitate the recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training processes for new staff.
• Provide consistent coaching and real-time performance feedback to team members.
• Hold team members accountable to established standards while fostering a culture of growth and development.
• Ensure the execution of onboarding and training programs to company standards.

Leadership & Ownership
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Model urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and Area leadership to identify operational gaps and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure the continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 1 year of leadership experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality operations.
• Strong operational discipline and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proven ability to coach and develop hourly team members effectively.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Capable of performing all bakery roles during peak business periods.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
