The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) role is a vital leadership position within Insomnia Cookies, aimed at nurturing future Bakery Operations Managers. In this position, you will be responsible for executing bakery operations with precision and accountability while honing your leadership abilities to manage a bakery independently.

This role combines operational excellence, talent development, and team leadership. ABOMs serve as a direct support to the Bakery Operations Manager (BOM) and must be prepared to take on full bakery responsibilities when required. Our Boise location is situated at 900 W Royal Blvd, Space 2, Boise, ID 83706.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Execution:
• Oversee core bakery operations, including inventory management, scheduling support, staffing coordination, and administrative tasks.
• Ensure strict compliance with product quality, cleanliness, food safety, and customer experience standards.
• Assist with ordering, maintaining inventory accuracy, and managing shrinkage.
• Help create schedules and manage labor to meet operational objectives.

Talent & Team Development:
• Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members.
• Offer consistent coaching and immediate performance feedback.
• Hold team members to established standards while fostering a culture of growth.
• Ensure onboarding and training initiatives align with company standards.

Leadership & Ownership:
• Independently manage bakery operations in the absence of the BOM.
• Exhibit urgency, accountability, and operational discipline.
• Collaborate with the BOM and area leadership to identify operational deficiencies and implement effective solutions.
• Ensure continuity of operations during leadership transitions or staffing shortages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Successfully execute all BOM-level administrative and operational responsibilities.
• Maintain a fully staffed and trained bakery operating at high standards.
• Foster a strong culture of accountability and consistency.
• Serve as a dependable operational leader during any coverage scenarios.
• Demonstrate readiness for advancement to a BOM role.
