Join our esteemed client, a leader in the Infrastructure & Environment sector, renowned for their commitment to quality and innovative, commercially viable solutions. They are looking to expand their Geotechnical National Service line by hiring an Associate Director of Geotechnical Engineering to lead their team in London.
As the Associate Director of Geotechnical Engineering, you will be presented with an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a highly skilled professional team. Your primary focus will be on ground movement analysis, collaborating with structural engineers on significant projects across London and nationwide. You will coordinate with your national team to deliver comprehensive ground investigations, interpretative reports, and geotechnical design recommendations for diverse projects including high-rise buildings, deep basements, retaining walls, ground improvements, and earthworks.
In this role, you will be part of a national service line, ensuring effective utilization of technical support across regions and fostering collaboration within your local team to provide resilient geotechnical solutions. A strong technical foundation is essential, along with the ability to work harmoniously with structural and civil engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee design management of project elements for the Geotechnical National Service Line, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
- Conduct geotechnical analysis and data interpretation using FEM 2D and 3D methodologies.
- Evaluate site conditions based on available data and identify critical geotechnical design aspects.
- Prepare interpretative geotechnical reports.
- Conduct assessments of tunnels and other third-party assets.
- Work under the guidance of the National Service Line lead for Geotechnics while reporting locally to a Regional Director.
- Promote collaboration within the NSL, sharing work nationally and mentoring the technical team as directed by the NSL UK lead.
- Be an effective team player, recognizing the management structure and contributing positively to the company’s objectives on a national scale.
