AECOM is excited to announce an opening for an Associate Director of Security Design within our Security and Technology Engineering team. This role presents a unique opportunity to influence significant construction projects across major cities in Europe and globally.
The AECOM Security & Technology Engineering team operates as a specialized unit within the Building Engineering division, offering expert Security and Technology design and support services that enhance the broader design efforts of our building engineering teams.
Our Buildings Engineering team, comprising around 400 skilled engineers, engages in large-scale construction initiatives and focuses on specific project specializations in London and around the world. We cater to various sectors, including prominent commercial builds, mixed-use developments, critical national infrastructure, and more.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will oversee high-level technical and strategic security engineering services for new construction and fit-out projects, guiding them through the RIBA stages. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing risk assessments, creating mitigation strategies, and drafting operational requirements.
- Leading master planning efforts for projects, from city-level strategies to mixed-use developments.
- Designing comprehensive physical security solutions, including electronic locking systems, walling, glazing, doors, barriers, and fencing.
- Creating electronic security designs encompassing video surveillance, access control, intruder detection, and intercom systems.
- Offering counter-terrorism advice, including expertise on Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast protection, and ballistic security in collaboration with specialists.
