Role Overview: Associate, Investment Operations (Portfolio Control)
This Associate position sits within the Portfolio Control team in Investment Operations. The team serves as a central point between operations, fund accounting, and external service providers, focusing on oversight, controls, and resolving issues across client portfolios and Acadian funds.
The Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate portfolio data, managing key operational relationships, and supporting the full lifecycle of client accounts, from onboarding through ongoing maintenance. The role provides exposure to a wide range of asset classes, global markets, and operational processes, with opportunities to improve efficiency and collaborate with both internal teams and external partners.
This is a hybrid role based in Boston, with three days per week in the office.
Main Responsibilities
- Fund Oversight: Oversee portfolio accounting, custody, and middle-office functions. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal systems and external providers. Work with custodians, prime brokers, and derivative counterparties (including ISDA relationships) to support new fund launches, trading, collateral management, and account maintenance. Reconcile proxy-voting reports and respond to questions from both internal and external contacts.
- New Account Startup/Onboarding: Prepare documentation for counterparty welcome packages for separately managed accounts, complete internal system setups, and coordinate between stakeholders.
- Fund Administration: Oversee and participate in fund expense processes, including budgeting, accruals, invoice review, and payments.
