YOUR EXPERIENCEAs a successful candidate, you will have expertise in all the following areas:1-3 years of relevant experience in media relations, communications, and/or digital and social media strategy. Proficient in utilizing social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.) and possess knowledge of current social media trends. Basic understanding of digital advertising techniques. Strong professional communication skills for interaction with clients, media, and external audiences, as well as colleagues. Exceptional writing, editing, research, and presentation abilities. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). As an outstanding candidate, you may also possess many of the following qualities:Experience with political campaigns, government work, and/or public relations agencies. A keen interest in policy issues, business, and media, especially at their intersection. Hands-on experience with digital advertising is a plus. Excellent organizational skills and a meticulous attention to detail. A proven ability to manage multiple projects effectively under tight deadlines.

teamavoq seeks an Associate to join its Public Affairs team in Washington, DC. This position supports daily operations across several client accounts, with a strong emphasis on storytelling and advancing positive change.

Role overview

The Associate collaborates with both colleagues and clients to deliver public affairs and PR campaigns for businesses, advocacy organizations, and non-profits. Responsibilities include hands-on content creation, research, and project coordination.

What you will do

  • Contribute to daily client engagement and help execute strategies for a varied client portfolio.
  • Write and edit materials such as website copy, social media posts, stakeholder communications, presentations, reports, memos, editorials, and op-eds.
  • Conduct market research, update stakeholder and media lists, generate media activity reports, and analyze social media sentiment.
  • Design and implement digital marketing strategies.
  • Work with team members to develop creative content and deliverables.
  • Coordinate timelines, budgets, vendors, and personnel to keep projects moving forward, even as priorities shift.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions to shape campaign ideas and messaging.
  • Supervise Fellows during major projects.
  • Extract and interpret key data and stories from research findings.
  • Assist in drafting proposals for new and existing clients.
