The Role:
We are looking for an experienced Automation Engineer II to take ownership of the BaseCamp facilities controls and automation systems. This role will involve developing support models to ensure reliable operations, managing vendor and software support contracts, and providing technical assistance for automated systems in manufacturing, quality, and research. The Automation Engineer II will also support capital projects and facility expansions, ensuring seamless integration of new assets into our automation infrastructure, troubleshooting manufacturing equipment, and collaborating closely with Quality and Validation teams to ensure compliance and system readiness.
Success in this role demands strong system ownership, effective collaboration, and a customer-centric approach. The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in facility controls and infrastructure, including BMS, BAS, BacNet, and MTPS; automation systems such as SCADA, PLCs, HMIs, and data historians; as well as regulatory standards like 21 CFR Part 11, Annex 11, and data integrity. A passion for continuous learning, meticulous attention to detail, and hands-on problem-solving skills are essential. Robust, lean automation and data collection strategies are vital in supporting ElevateBio’s mission to swiftly launch next-generation cell and gene therapies for patients.
