Key Responsibilities for the Automotive Collision Painter:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by removing old paint, repairing dents, and ensuring damage is addressed.
  • Mix paint colors to achieve desired results.
  • Apply paint to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns.
  • Ensure complete coverage and a flawless finish.
  • Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and wear appropriate protective gear while working.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an auto body painter with a robust portfolio demonstrating previous work is essential.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in color blending, surface preparation, and various painting techniques.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of paints, primers, and finishes, along with their application methods.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship with precision.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to effectively troubleshoot and rectify painting imperfections.
  • Physical Stamina: Capacity to stand for long periods and handle physically demanding tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications: Relevant certifications or vocational training in auto body painting or a similar field.
  • Software Skills: Knowledge of computerized paint mixing systems and paint-related software is a plus.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with other auto body technicians and professionals.
