The Billing Coordinator role centers on managing daily billing operations and guiding the billing team to ensure all billing activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with both internal policies and client requirements. This position combines hands-on billing work with team coordination and process oversight.

What you will do

  • Oversee the end-to-end billing process, maintaining accuracy and completeness in line with internal standards and client needs.
  • Monitor billing workflows, resolve bottlenecks, and ensure deadlines are met for month-end and ad-hoc cycles.
  • Maintain high data integrity within billing systems.
  • Act as the main contact for complex, high-value, or sensitive billing matters, addressing discrepancies and client-specific requirements.
  • Provide solutions for non-standard billing scenarios and support the team with guidance on escalations.

Team coordination and stakeholder management

  • Organize daily team workloads and set priorities to meet operational targets.
  • Support induction and on-the-job training for billing staff, ensuring the team understands current billing policies and systems.
  • Offer feedback to team members and contribute to performance discussions and development plans.
  • Build effective working relationships with partners, fee earners, and colleagues across departments.
  • Serve as a liaison for billing inquiries, communicating status, risks, and remediation plans clearly.
  • Collaborate with other Finance teams to ensure adherence to client billing guidelines.

Process improvement

  • Identify and recommend ways to enhance billing processes and improve efficiency, including through automation and other methods.
