About the job

Join Us in Transforming Critical Care in Atlantic Canada!

Are you passionate about elevating the standards of critical care for pets across an entire region? Our brand-new, state-of-the-art 17,000 sq. ft. specialty and emergency hospital in Halifax is looking for a driven Board-Certified or Residency-Trained Criticalist to help build a premier critical care service from the ground up. You will collaborate closely with an established criticalist and a dedicated team of specialists, including internists, radiologists, dermatologists, anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists, and surgeons, along with a dedicated ER department. With new dentistry and cardiology services set to launch in 2026, the potential for growth and impact is immense.

Halifax is not just a city; it’s a lifestyle. Known for its welcoming culture, vibrant food scene, live music, and proximity to stunning beaches and outdoor activities, it offers a rare opportunity for affordable home ownership in Canada.

Our facility is meticulously designed to support top-tier critical care, featuring advanced operating theatres, CT and MRI technology, and a dedicated ICU with Snyder kennels and high-flow oxygen capabilities. You will be backed by ICU-focused RVTs, promoting a culture of teamwork, learning, and excellence.

We seek a criticalist who thrives in collaborative environments, is motivated to enhance service offerings, and is eager to join in expanding our critical care department. This position includes participation in a balanced weekend rotation, supported by a strong ER team and a hospital-wide commitment to continuity of patient care.

This opportunity includes a highly competitive base salary, a generous signing and relocation bonus, and the chance to shape a critical care service that will significantly impact the veterinary landscape in Atlantic Canada.
