It is essential that you reside within a commutable distance from the Annapolis/Baltimore area. Skills:Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, vlookups, and formulas) is mandatory. Experience in a dynamic, fast-paced company or startup environment is a plus. Familiarity with HR policies, payroll, and document management. Exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Google Workspace, HRIS platforms, and reporting tools is advantageous.

Located in the vibrant Annapolis/Baltimore area, Porter is on the lookout for a dedicated Business Administrator to elevate our financial and operational functions. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that our daily administrative processes run smoothly while contributing to a positive employee experience. You’ll report directly to the CFO and collaborate with HR, Finance, and People Operations to manage documentation, oversee the payroll process, coordinate internal training, and assist with reporting and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Document Management:
Efficiently organize and maintain essential company documents, including contracts, policies, and operational records. Ensure version control and secure access to sensitive files while assisting with documentation for audits and internal reviews.

Payroll:
Oversee payroll operations for all internal employees, including commission payouts and accounts receivable, while ensuring employee records are accurately maintained in collaboration with HR and Finance.

HR & Administrative Support:
Facilitate internal communications across departments, coordinate internal training programs for managers, and support benefit tracking and compliance alongside light HR-related tasks.

Reporting & Compliance:
Develop and maintain internal reports utilizing Excel (including pivot tables and vlookups) to assist leadership with finance, accounting, and operational reporting. Ensure that process documentation and compliance standards are consistently updated.
