The Quick Overview
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will be the trusted guardian of our financial landscape. You’re not just managing figures; you’re overseeing the heartbeat of our operations. Your experience with term sheets, payroll, and navigating challenging quarters will be invaluable. You know intuitively when to invest and when to hold back, capable of constructing financial models from the ground up and articulating them to those less familiar.
Current Landscape
Viktor is on a rapid growth trajectory that has outpaced our financial capabilities, presenting both an exciting challenge and an opportunity to shape our financial future. Currently, critical decisions around expenses, hiring, and runway are being made on spreadsheets crafted by our founders. This approach worked when we were a small team; now, we need your expertise as we expand.
As the first finance hire, you will report directly to the CEO and have the unique opportunity to establish our entire financial function: from forecasting to capital decisions, and communicating our financial story to investors when it's time to seek further funding.
Your Role
Take full ownership of our financial operations, encompassing accounting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, tax, audit, and board reporting. Initially, you will be the sole member of the finance team, but you’ll build a robust department as we grow.
Develop a dynamic financial model that informs key business decisions. This isn't just budgeting; it's about creating a responsive forecast that guides our hiring and investment strategies, helping us understand potential impacts on our runway.
Manage our cash flow with precision. You'll oversee our financial resources, determining the best allocation and duration of funds, ensuring we have a clear understanding of our runway.
Lead our next funding round. Collaborate closely with co-founders to prepare for investor meetings, data rooms, and due diligence processes, ensuring you are the foremost authority on our financials during this critical time.
Act as a strategic advisor on significant decisions involving real estate, equity, compensation structures, and vendor contracts. Your insights will prevent potential missteps that could affect our long-term trajectory.
Work collaboratively with co-founders Fryderyk and Peter, who are keen on having a financial partner who can challenge assumptions and contribute meaningfully to our financial strategy.
