Qualifications

Master's degree in social work or a related field (must be in progress to obtain social worker’s license). Current social work licensure in Massachusetts (LICSW preferred; LCSW accepted with relevant work experience). A minimum of three years of counseling experience is preferred. Experience in counseling terminally ill patients and their families, coupled with knowledge of the healthcare delivery system and available community resources. Experience and training in facilitating support groups, along with skills in family psychosocial assessments. Proven ability to assess and respond to the diverse needs of patients and families in various settings. Strong understanding of hospice philosophy and principles. Ability to work independently, be flexible, and collaborate effectively within a team.

Part-time Position

Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 PM to 9 PM, with flexible shift options available.

Role Overview:

As a key member of our interdisciplinary team at the Hospice House, the Social Worker will report directly to the Hospice House Director and/or Clinical Manager. You will play an essential role in planning and providing supportive services tailored to terminally ill patients and their families.

Your responsibilities will include identifying the psychosocial needs of patients and families and addressing these needs through direct service or collaboration with other team members, all in alignment with the hospice plan of care.
