Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related fieldA minimum of 12–15 years of experience in Oil & Gas tank construction projects. At least 5 years in a senior supervisory or section head role managing tank erection operations. Extensive knowledge of API 650, API 620, API 653, and relevant standards. Demonstrated experience in the construction of large diameter storage tanks. Familiarity with hydrotesting, settlement monitoring, and tank calibration procedures is preferred. Welding/NDT certifications (CSWIP / AWS) are advantageous. Strong understanding of HSE mandates and ADNOC PTW systems. Ability to effectively manage large teams and multiple tank work fronts. Exceptional leadership, coordination, and problem-solving abilities. Experience working on ADNOC or significant GCC Oil & Gas projects is preferred. Proficient in MS Office and construction management software.

About the job

  • Lead and oversee all tank construction operations, which encompass fabrication, erection, welding, and testing procedures.
  • Manage the installation of API 650/620 storage tanks, including bottom plates, shell courses, roof structures (both fixed and floating), and nozzles.
  • Ensure adherence to ADNOC standards, API codes, ASME, and specific project requirements.
  • Review and authorize method statements, welding procedures (WPS), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), lifting plans, and risk assessments.
  • Oversee tank foundation preparation, settlement assessments, and civil interface coordination.
  • Monitor welding quality, NDT activities, hydrostatic testing, vacuum box testing, and dimensional checks.
  • Collaborate with QA/QC, HSE, engineering, and planning teams to ensure seamless workflow.
  • Maintain strict compliance with the Permit-to-Work (PTW) system and HSE regulations.
  • Manage subcontractors, supervisors, and workforce to meet productivity objectives.
  • Participate in client inspections and prepare for third-party audits.
  • Generate progress reports, manpower plans, and construction schedules.
  • Assist in pre-commissioning activities and the preparation of handover documentation.
