Role overview
The Contract Manufacturing Manager is a key member of the Operations team and acts as the main contact for all co-manufacturers. Reporting to the Senior Manufacturing Manager, this position helps grow Magic Spoon’s manufacturing network. The role focuses on securing supply, identifying production risks, and developing contingency plans to ensure steady output.
Location and work model
This is a full-time role. Candidates who can work a hybrid schedule in Hudson Square, New York City (in-office Tuesday through Thursday) are preferred. Fully remote candidates within the United States will also be considered.
What you will do
- Lead production planning with co-manufacturers, building partnerships to align on capacity, schedules, and priorities.
- Monitor daily and weekly production, resolve delays or issues, and communicate updates and risks to cross-functional teams.
- Oversee ERP production activities with co-manufacturers to keep inventory, receiving, and consumption data accurate.
- Work with the Freight Team and co-manufacturers to coordinate product movement, including production releases, Certificate of Analysis readiness, and shipping timelines.
- Support commercialization of new or reformulated products by providing co-manufacturers with specifications, Bills of Materials, materials, and packaging requirements before production starts.
- Approve finished goods invoices, investigate discrepancies in three-way matching, and assist with pricing changes, credit applications, and RPO-based billing.
- Create operational reports such as production dashboards, schedule updates, and co-manufacturer performance metrics to guide business decisions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, inventory files, and co-manufacturer reports to support transparency, traceability, and compliance.
