Role overview
This hybrid Data Engineer position in Chantilly, VA, joins a collaborative team focused on large-scale enterprise data systems in cloud environments. The role centers on integrating, protecting, and migrating data for complex projects.
Main responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain enterprise data systems on cloud platforms.
- Develop solutions for integrating data from various sources and formats.
- Integrate data from internal and external systems, APIs, and third-party applications.
- Implement data protection measures, including encryption, access controls, and disaster recovery plans.
- Lead data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-focused projects and initiatives.
- Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to maintain data quality.
- Create and update documentation for data architecture and workflows.
- Apply industry best practices in data management, including modeling and quality assurance.
- Improve the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of data systems and processes.
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering or similar roles.
- Background with cloud platforms and enterprise-scale data systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
