Key Responsibilities: Deliver precise quantitative data and insights on time to guide strategic initiatives, inform product decisions, and evaluate the effectiveness of product developments in a fast-paced environment. Lead and cultivate a collaborative, inclusive culture of trust and excellence within a team of approximately seven data scientists. Mentor team members in critical thinking, data storytelling, technical skills, and stakeholder engagement. Collaborate with Experiment Platform and Data Engineering teams to develop and maintain data products that enhance data accessibility. Work closely with product teams, particularly product managers, to foster a culture of data-informed product development. Continuously enhance experimentation and measurement best practices.

Summary

The Wikimedia Foundation is seeking an innovative and results-driven Data Science Manager to spearhead the Product Analytics team. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Research and Decision Science. In this pivotal role, you will oversee a team of talented data scientists whose analyses shape the strategic and tactical initiatives aligned with our mission: to enable every individual to freely contribute to the collective knowledge of humanity. Your team will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and various stakeholders within the Wikimedia ecosystem to deliver actionable insights and foster informed decision-making across the Foundation and its communities.

As the Data Science Manager for Product Analytics, you will lead a team of approximately seven data scientists dedicated to empowering product development teams through quantitative insights. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery and accuracy of data, establishing robust reporting processes, and enhancing the accessibility of critical data products and tools for stakeholders and decision-makers.

Candidates must reside within the UTC+1 to UTC-8 time zones, be available for essential meetings and collaborative work between 14:00 and 22:00 UTC, and be willing to travel for conferences and team offsites (up to 4 times annually).
