PROFILE AND SKILLSMaster of Science in Analytical Chemistry preferred; Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience will be considered. At least 2 years of experience with chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments (LC-MS and/or GC-MS) is required. Familiarity with complex injection techniques, such as headspace GC, is an advantage. Practical lab testing experience with at least two or three matrices (e.g., food and environmental samples) is necessary; more is preferred. Proficient in using software platforms such as MassHunter, MultiQuant, and Analyst; additional software knowledge is advantageous. Proven dedication to data quality and operational excellence. Strong understanding of analytical quality assurance is essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Basic experience with Python and AI programming is a plus.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (AFFILIATE)

Join our team at the Global Business Solutions (GBS) center as a Data Validator II. In this pivotal role, you will engage in meticulous data processing and analysis of various matrix samples including textiles, plastics, food, cosmetics, and water within a chemical laboratory setting. You will be responsible for validating, calculating, and reporting lab results while adhering to rigorous quality and ethical standards. Furthermore, you will take on the responsibility of training and mentoring junior Data Validator I team members as required.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct various data processing tasks, including laboratory data analysis, quality assurance calculations, peer reviews, LIMS entries, and other necessary data management functions.
  • Provide training and constructive feedback to Data Validator I team members.
  • Ensure compliance with lab deadlines and promptly notify the GBS Team Coordinator (or Lab Manager in their absence) if turnaround times cannot be met.
  • Adhere to testing methodologies and quality control procedures in accordance with ISO17025 and assigned SGS lab standards.
  • Keep key Affiliate personnel informed of all operational issues, including personnel matters, turnaround failures, ISO17025 compliance, quality control inconsistencies, and additional training needs.
  • Maintain compliance with the SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct, and stay updated on SGS quality assurance procedures.
  • Ensure workspace cleanliness and organization at all times.
  • Participate in regular team discussions and collaborate with lab affiliates and supervisors to address ongoing issues.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental goals and personal development.
