Purpose of the Position
The Dean of Education is responsible for leading the planning, supervision, and continuous improvement of teaching and learning within the institution. Under the direction of the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs, the Dean promotes academic excellence, faculty professional development, and curricular quality, ensuring compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Academic and Faculty Supervision
- Oversee Academic Deans, Coordinators, and Faculty across all teaching modalities.
- Implement faculty evaluation processes aligned with institutional objectives.
- Coordinate professional development for faculty, including training in innovative methodologies and educational technologies.
- Ensure adherence to academic policies, teaching loads, and site visits to practice centers.
2. Curriculum Management and Academic Scheduling
- Coordinate course and schedule planning, ensuring alignment with student needs.
- Supervise the update of curricula and academic catalogs.
- Promote the integration of active methodologies and technologies in teaching.
- Verify proper academic load assignment and the quality of reports required by the Registrar.
3. Accreditation and Regulatory Compliance
- Participate in professional accreditation processes and oversee the preparation of reports for evaluative agencies.
- Represent the institution in academic audits and educational quality reviews.
4. Supervision of Academic Resources
- Supervise the library system and encourage the use of informational resources among students and faculty.
- Coordinate with campus directors regarding academic needs and educational materials.
5. Support for University Centers
- Implement a visit and support plan for university centers.
- Directly supervise academic management at each campus and address their specific needs.
