About the job

Deputy Production Editor

Are you detail-oriented and passionate about ensuring accuracy in editorial content? If you have a background in media or editorial work, this opportunity could be your next significant career advancement.

Our client, a prominent entity in the digital magazine and B2B sectors, is seeking a skilled Production Editor for one of their flagship weekly publications.

The Deputy Production Editor will be an integral member of a close-knit editorial team, responsible for overseeing weekly print content, which includes adjusting layouts for both print and digital formats, and contributing to the creation of daily digital content. Your responsibilities will involve subediting, fact-checking, design, layout, and curating daily newsletters.

Your role will be pivotal in shaping the aesthetic and informative quality of this leading magazine, recognized as the UK's trusted source of specialized intelligence.

You will uphold the highest standards of accuracy and quality in print content while collaborating with the production and engagement editor to ensure the publication remains thought-provoking and fair. This will also include mentoring reporters to enhance their writing, assisting the editor and head of content, and proposing innovative strategies for improving the presentation of data-driven journalism. Additionally, you will lead the design layouts for the weekly magazine's print production.

Candidates who can effectively translate complex data into visually accessible formats, infographics, and layouts, and possess an interest in B2B publications, will excel in this role.

While this position does not entail line management duties, you will be expected to step in for the head of production as needed. A minimum of two years' experience in a sub-editing or production role is required.
