To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong technical skills and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Responsibilities include:Conducting thorough inspections of vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts, ensuring optimal operational safety and appearance. Performing repairs on vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other critical components. Addressing immediate fleet concerns while maintaining accurate maintenance records and reviewing driver defect reports daily. Tracking vehicle reports, labor hours, and maintenance records to uphold compliance and safety standards. Responding to emergency breakdowns and coordinating repairs or towing for inoperable vehicles. Collaborating with the IT team to manage on-board shuttle technology, ensuring functionality and proper installation. Preparing detailed work plans after assessing issues and assigning work orders to junior technicians as necessary. Conducting test drives of repaired vehicles to evaluate performance and running diagnostic tests on diesel engines. Maintaining accurate records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles.
