1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution coupled with two years of experience in community work or activities related to the responsibilities outlined above; or2. A high school diploma or equivalent along with six years of experience in community work or related activities; or3. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience as described in "1" or "2." However, all candidates must possess at least one year of experience as outlined in "1" above.

In line with this mission, the BXDA is seeking a motivated and skilled Digital Forensic Lab Analyst (DFL Analyst). The Digital Forensics Laboratory, which is part of the Strategic Innovations Division, plays a vital role in supporting criminal investigations and prosecutions by examining digital evidence from a variety of devices, including smartphones, tablets, computers, and other storage media. The DFL Analyst will be responsible for analyzing digital extractions and records, call detail and cell site records, and ensuring the secure documentation and preservation of electronic evidence to support investigations and prosecutions across the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review forensic results from mobile devices, computers, and other digital media.
  • Perform redactions in reports generated by tools such as Cellebrite and Axiom Portable Case Files, and create relevant sub-reports.
  • Act as a liaison between case officers, investigators, and the DFL to ensure proper handling of electronic devices in accordance with the latest forensic best practices.
  • Assist Digital Forensic Examiners with compliance related to evidence discovery.
  • Analyze call detail records (CDR), cell site records, and geolocation data.
  • Compile and analyze data from OSINT, third-party sources, and law enforcement databases to assist in investigations and prosecutions.
  • Support the drafting of preservation requests and subpoenas, and review returned materials for criminal investigations.
  • Assist in annual audits of the Digital Forensic Laboratory, including evidence and equipment.
  • Contribute to the 24/7 operations of the Lab, which may require working nights, weekends, or holidays.
  • Undertake additional tasks as needed within the Digital Forensics Laboratory.
