Qualifications
Deliver precise, timely, and commercially-savvy legal advice to management and stakeholders regarding commercial contracts, regulatory issues, corporate governance, internal policies, and, as needed, employment and data protection matters. Lead, mentor, and cultivate the Commercial and Regulatory Legal team, ensuring a balance between hands-on legal work and effective delegation. Serve as the primary escalation point for complex or high-stakes commercial and regulatory legal matters. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide array of legal documents—both personally and through delegation—such as client agreements, terms & conditions, banking partner contracts, vendor agreements, marketing materials, NDAs, and intra-group documentation. Evaluate and manage legal and regulatory risks associated with business decisions, products, services, markets, and counterparties, offering proactive and practical guidance. Facilitate the monitoring of changes in UK, EU, and international legislation pertinent to the payments and financial services sectors, translating these changes into actionable legal guidance for the organization. Assist in regulatory audits, health checks, and communications with regulators, auditors, and external legal counsel. Work closely with Risk, Fraud, AML, Product, Sales, Operations, Finance, and HR teams to ensure legal compliance with regulatory and business requirements. Contribute to the development, review, and enhancement of legal policies, procedures, templates, and legal knowledge across the group. Support cross-jurisdictional initiatives throughout the Clear Junction Group.
