About the job

Join our dynamic team at AP on AP as the Director of People and Culture. We are seeking an individual with an entrepreneurial mindset who is dedicated to fostering inclusive work environments. You will collaborate closely with our co-founders in a fully remote capacity to enhance diversity, equity, and accessibility within our organization. This is a unique chance to be a foundational member of an Asian American startup and take ownership of its culture and talent development.

AP on AP is an emerging news media startup currently in the development phase of our inaugural product, an Asian American weekly news podcast titled 'At the Moment.' This role is voluntary and requires a commitment of 10 hours per week until our initial funding round is secured, with compensation based on equity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the recruitment process from candidate engagement to offer acceptance.

  • Promote a socially responsible culture by identifying inclusion barriers, innovating solutions, and engaging team members to implement these solutions.

  • Create frameworks that support efficient remote work.

  • Assess and introduce tools and processes that facilitate constructive feedback and reviews.

  • Encourage positive team dynamics and resolve conflicts as they arise.

  • Oversee payroll and benefits development post-funding.
