Role overview

The Director of People Operations takes charge of operational excellence throughout the employee lifecycle. This leader manages a focused HR Operations team, shaping people practices that support business performance, guide change, and maintain compliance with employment law. The role requires a proactive approach, adaptability, and a commitment to keeping people at the heart of decisions.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the People Operations team, fostering a collaborative and supportive culture.
  • Mentor team members to grow capabilities and deliver consistent, high-quality HR services.
  • Oversee daily HR operations, using data to improve processes and enhance the employee experience.
  • Review and refine HR processes for compliance and efficiency, including exploring AI tools to reduce manual tasks.
  • Maintain accurate employee data in HR systems, ensuring strong data governance and GDPR compliance.
  • Handle complex employee relations matters, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes in line with legislation and best practices.
  • Work with stakeholders to resolve sensitive people issues using sound judgment.
  • Develop and update people policies that support business goals and improve the employee experience.
  • Monitor and implement changes in employment law, maintaining compliance and best practices across the organization.
  • Uphold strong governance across all HR functions.
