As the Duty Manager - Light Maintenance at Etihad Airways, you will report directly to the Senior Manager of Aircraft Maintenance (Line and Light Maintenance). In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary contact for Senior Management and the Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) regarding all daily light maintenance operations. You must be fully qualified under the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) standards, holding certification privileges to declare aircraft fit for service. You will also act on behalf of the Senior Manager when required.
Your key responsibilities include coordinating with MCC to ensure that both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks are executed efficiently and punctually. You will play an essential role in fostering the ongoing development of Etihad’s Safety Management System and the overall safety culture by providing your team with the necessary time, training, resources, and motivation.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify the validity of licenses and authorizations held by team members in collaboration with the Administration Officer.
- Uphold the highest standards of aviation maintenance and ensure that aircraft are returned to service in alignment with the flying schedule.
- Certify your work and that of others, ensuring all tasks comply with approved maintenance data and authorization scope.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of station facilities.
- Oversee aircraft documentation for accuracy and timeliness, ensuring certification for service release.
- Review employee absences, accidents, and health documentation, taking necessary actions accordingly.
- Assess working practices for optimal resource utilization continuously.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct documented shift handovers at the end of each duty shift.
- Exhibit professionalism in all customer interactions.
- Engage in training that enhances your contribution to the role.
- Facilitate communication between Aircraft Maintenance Supervisors to ensure operational continuity.
- Implement Safety Management Systems (SMS) and conduct formal risk assessments for significant operational changes.
- Promote a safe and secure working environment for all Etihad employees, emphasizing quality, safety, and security awareness.
- Manage incidents effectively to minimize employee injuries and losses.
- Monitor the training currency of supervised employees to prevent lapses.
