Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ). Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience. Experience in design as well as preparation of plans and specifications. Experience in preparing technical specifications for electrical equipment. Willingness to travel occasionally abroad for periods ranging from a few days to a few weeks. Valid Quebec driver's license, appropriate class. Proficient with industry-related software, including SKM, PSEE, ETAP, or EasyPower. Strong knowledge of Allen-Bradley and SEL automation software. Ability to write structured reports and recommendations in both French and English (for potential assignments outside Quebec).

AECOM is seeking a talented Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Water team in the Montreal office. The successful candidate will engage in detailed design work for protection and control systems of refurbished turbine-generator units, as well as contribute to new hydroelectric power plant projects and transmission and distribution stations across Canada and the United States.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design protection, control, and automation systems for turbine-generator units.
  • Prepare and/or review one-line diagrams, relay schematics, layout plans, and cable and conduit routing.
  • Create engineering documents for construction, including plans, technical specifications, and material lists.
  • Conduct electrical studies, including short-circuit analysis, protection coordination, selectivity, and relay settings.
  • Ensure technical coordination with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Adhere to internal quality standards, codes, and regulations.
