THE ROLE

As an Emergency Veterinarian, you will be at the forefront of providing critical care to pets in distress. Your passion for helping animals will shine as you manage a variety of emergencies, from routine cases to complex surgical procedures. With an emphasis on mentorship and ongoing education, ranging from immediate support to extensive VEG Education programs and limitless continuing education opportunities, you will continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.

In this leadership role within the hospital, you'll become a hero for your clients, supported by a dedicated team and ample resources, allowing you to take your career to extraordinary heights.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address medical inquiries via telephone
  • Provide immediate patient care as part of VEG's unique Triage and VEG Spikes system, ensuring timely access to veterinary professionals and allowing families to stay with their pets
  • Collect patient information including signalment, presenting complaints, vital signs, and physical exam findings
  • Conduct thorough physical exams and necessary diagnostic procedures such as ultrasounds, X-rays, blood tests, and biopsies
  • Formulate accurate diagnoses and treatment plans for pets presenting with various conditions
