Job Mission

As an Engineer II, Equipment Engineering at ASM, you will play a vital role in the development, installation, and ongoing operation of advanced R&D equipment for new product initiatives. This position is perfect for engineers who possess a solid understanding of semiconductor equipment support and are eager to enhance their hands-on technical skills within a collaborative R&D setting.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to guarantee equipment reliability, safety, and optimal performance, directly contributing to the success of new product design and development activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the installation, upgrades, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of R&D equipment during the new product development phase.
  • Assist in first builds, equipment bring-up, and product testing in collaboration with R&D and facilities teams.
  • Engage in hands-on troubleshooting and root cause analysis to restore and maintain equipment performance and uptime.
  • Oversee the daily operation and monitoring of R&D lab equipment, ensuring stable and reliable tool performance.
  • Collaborate with Hardware, Electrical, Process, and Software engineers during the equipment development and integration phases.
  • Adhere to established best-known methods (BKM) and support the documentation of service, preventive, and corrective maintenance procedures.
  • Comply with safety standards and standard operating procedures in all equipment-related activities.
  • Elevate complex or recurring equipment issues to senior engineers as necessary and assist in resolving them.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, efficiency, and usability.
