Overview of the Role:
Biffa is on the lookout for an Engineering Project Manager to enhance our Group Engineering team. In this role, you will take the lead on diverse waste infrastructure initiatives, ranging from innovative drainage solutions to the development of new waste transfer stations. This position is perfectly suited for individuals transitioning from environmental consultancy to client-side project delivery.
This is a full-time position with a Monday to Friday schedule, though occasional travel may require overnight stays. The role can be performed remotely, allowing you to manage your own schedule, but it will necessitate regular travel across the country.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Providing expert technical construction knowledge to project teams.
- Collaborating closely with operations to ensure clarity in project scope.
- Overseeing the procurement of consulting design services and collaborating with designers to integrate value engineering and innovation at the design phase.
- Managing contractor procurement, including specification, tender evaluations, project delivery, and adherence to health & safety, planning, and permitting regulations.
- Coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders and consultants to ensure successful project execution.
- Advocating for strong health and safety leadership throughout all project phases, from initiation to completion.
- Conducting regular site visits and leading the construction phase, while integrating with other engineering disciplines as necessary.
