Broome + Greene is a premier retailer specializing in high-quality modern furniture, lighting, and decor tailored for both urban and country homes.
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Events Associate Intern to join our Chicago Merchandise Mart showroom for the Spring or Summer '19 semester.
The Events Associate will play a pivotal role in orchestrating trade and consumer events at our locations in Chicago and New York City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the marketing team to identify and select upcoming trade shows and community events for Broome + Greene’s participation.
- Design and define the objectives and structure of each event to ensure alignment with company goals.
- Coordinate venue selection and sponsorship opportunities as needed.
- Arrange catering and entertainment services where applicable.
- Develop and manage invitation lists tailored to specific event types, including RSVP tracking.
- Partner with marketing to effectively promote events to targeted audiences.
- Work alongside the sales team to identify potential attendees that could facilitate closing deals.
- Act as the main contact on the event day to guarantee seamless execution.

- Demonstrated analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Personable and engaging demeanor, complemented by a strong work ethic and professionalism.
- Outstanding verbal communication skills and phone etiquette.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on achieving results.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
- Quick learner with the ability to absorb product knowledge rapidly.
- Strong sense of ownership and responsibility for assigned tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
- Able to collaborate effectively with team members across all departments.
This internship is unpaid; however, lunch will be provided daily, and reasonable travel expenses will be reimbursed. Course credit is available.
