AECOM is looking for a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead and oversee field construction administration activities, collaborating closely with Project Managers to effectively manage implementation teams on diverse projects. This position is based in Austin, TX, and is essential for ensuring that construction activities align with design specifications, adhere to budget constraints, and stay on schedule. The Senior Construction Manager will act as a vital link between contractors, internal teams, and city representatives to uphold project quality, safety, and operational continuity.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise field and construction operations, guiding construction coordinators and support staff as appropriate.Conduct thorough quality control assessments of personal and team outputs.Assist the Airport Program Manager (APM) in liaising with various City of Austin departments, including Capital Delivery, Procurement, Development Services, and Finance.Support change management and scope development in collaboration with the APM, Project Manager, and Capital Delivery Project Manager (CDPM).Coordinate with City Engineering Construction Coordinators from the Capital Delivery Services Department.Act as the liaison between contractors and internal AUS stakeholders, including Maintenance, Operations, and Security.Participate in contractor progress meetings, punch walks, mockup reviews, and other necessary project discussions.Ensure verification of contractor mobilization schedules and make recommendations to the APM regarding contractual obligations prior to the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.Maintain comprehensive project schedules to monitor design reviews, procurement, and construction activities.Work collaboratively with pre-construction and design teams to assess plans for constructability and cost implications.Review and approve contractors’ Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and logistics plans.Oversee quality services to guarantee contractors meet contract standards.Evaluate, modify, and supervise construction safety programs.Facilitate regular construction meetings to address issues impacting cost and schedule.Assist in the review and negotiation of Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) field costs, equipment, and general conditions.Collaborate with AUS’s Environmental Team to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.Monitor construction and generate reports confirming adherence to contract obligations.Work with safety and risk management teams to ensure a secure project site.Provide insights for monthly pay application reviews to assist the APM and CDPM in finalizing billings.Review daily construction reports and weekly work plans to ensure adherence to schedules.Support the change order review process, including evaluating contractor estimates and negotiating modifications.
