Role Overview Buyer's Edge Platform Fresh Division seeks an experienced Accounting Manager to join the Accounting team in a hybrid capacity. This role involves three days per week onsite in Bannockburn, IL. Work sponsorship is not available for this position. About Buyer's Edge Platform Fresh Division The Fresh Division includes Fresh Concepts, Produce Alliance, Fresh Alliance, and Fresh Services, with more than 35 years in produce management. The team delivers category management, procurement, contracting, national distribution, freight management, K-12 solutions, technology services, and food safety assurance for food service clients across North America, the Caribbean, and beyond. The division partners with over 125 distributors and leading grower-shippers throughout the continent. What You Will Do Team Leadership Work closely with junior accounting staff, providing mentorship and support for their growth. Review and assess work completed by team members. Promote accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team. General Accounting Prepare and review journal entries and account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Refine processes to support monthly close and maintain strong internal controls. Financial Reporting Assist the Controller with preparing and reviewing financial statements each month, quarter, and year in line with US GAAP. Analyze financial statement fluctuations and variances. Audit and Compliance Support consolidated audits through preparation, review, and compilation of auditor requests. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. Process Improvement Lead projects to enhance accounting processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness. Document business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.
