In this role, you will be responsible for the setup, maintenance, and optimization of production database environments, ensuring high availability and performance.Key Responsibilities:Configure and maintain SQL Server environments, including clustering, replication, mirroring, and log shipping, to support 24/7 operations.Provide expert guidance to application DBAs and development teams, sharing knowledge and best practices.Engage proactively in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and database bug-fixing to enhance system reliability.Evaluate and recommend third-party database tools based on business needs.Participate in capacity planning and design for new database projects, ensuring scalability and efficiency.Conduct database migrations, upgrades, and patching with meticulous attention to detail.Ensure compliance with SOX audit requirements and maintain quality process orientation.Qualifications:In-depth experience with SQL Server versions 2000, 2005, and 2008.Strong knowledge of Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows 2003 server environments.Proficient in SQL programming, scripting, and database performance tuning.Excellent communication skills and a strong ability to manage customer expectations.Experience with disaster recovery strategies and audit tools is a plus.Flexibility to work in shifts and provide rotational on-call support.
