Join the Walmart Pricing team as a Senior Backend Software Engineer, where you will spearhead the architecture and development of expansive backend event-driven systems utilizing GenAI LLMs, machine learning, Cassandra, Kafka, Apache Spark, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your expertise will help create scalable solutions that enhance our pricing systems, mentor fellow engineers, and foster innovative solutions that affect millions of customers daily. Your contributions will ensure competitive and precise pricing across both our online and physical store channels, directly benefiting countless Walmart customers and associates.Key Responsibilities:Design, architect, and implement sophisticated backend systems for pricing services using Java and Python (Kotlin experience is advantageous).Lead the integration of GenAI LLMs and machine learning models into backend services.Optimize data storage solutions with Cassandra, manage data streaming with Kafka, and execute large-scale processing with Apache Spark.Develop and oversee big data ETL jobs.Establish and maintain monitoring and visualization dashboards utilizing Grafana.Guide and mentor junior engineers, facilitating technical discussions and code reviews.Collaborate closely with data scientists, ML engineers, and product managers to deliver effective pricing solutions.Uphold best practices in code quality, testing, and documentation.Drive continuous improvements in system performance, scalability, and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with IBM Integration Tools, specifically Websphere Message Broker, IIB, MQ, and Datapower.• A solid 4 years of experience in the software development life cycle.• At least 4 years of involvement in project life cycle activities for both development and maintenance projects.• Two years of experience in design and architecture reviews.• Strong collaboration skills to thrive in a diverse and multi-stakeholder environment.• Excellent analytical abilities.• A passion for working within a global delivery framework.This position requires extended periods of sitting and computer use. Strong communication skills are essential, including the ability to engage via telephone, email, or face-to-face. Travel may be necessary based on job requirements.
