Role overview The Gameplay Animator will help shape lifelike and compelling sports experiences for a major upcoming franchise. This role works closely with Animation Engineers, AI Developers, Designers, and Producers to deliver authentic sports behaviors and fluid gameplay moments. What you will do Work as part of a multidisciplinary team spanning several areas of game development. Participate in review and feedback sessions, focusing on both source animations and their integration into gameplay. Edit, refine, and optimize motion capture data to meet gameplay and design requirements. Coordinate with Design Leads to define animation needs and support feature design that relies on animation. Collaborate with Engineers and Designers to ensure features are technically sound and align with project objectives. Work with the Animation Director to uphold animation quality standards. Assist in implementing features in the game engine alongside Design and Engineering teams. Advocate for animation quality and authenticity throughout the development process. Occasionally support prototype assets, sketches, layouts, or other materials for game or cinematic pre-visualization. Estimate time and resources required for animation tasks.
