Role overview
This hybrid position in Chantilly, VA, seeks a DevOps Engineer with strong Kubernetes skills. The role centers on managing large-scale services and enterprise data systems in cloud environments, with a primary focus on migrating legacy applications to Kubernetes-based infrastructure.
Main responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain Kubernetes infrastructure to support containerization of legacy applications.
- Work with development teams to review application architecture and advise on changes for Kubernetes compatibility.
- Develop and execute migration strategies that minimize downtime and ensure a smooth transition to Kubernetes.
- Integrate data from internal systems, external APIs, and third-party tools within Kubernetes environments.
- Implement and manage data protection measures, including encryption, access controls, and disaster recovery for Kubernetes-hosted applications.
- Lead application migration projects, maintaining data integrity and accuracy throughout the process.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to move Kubernetes-related projects from planning to implementation.
- Document application architectures, data flows, and Kubernetes infrastructure for ongoing use and compliance.
