About the Role
To realize our vision of serving 80,000-100,000 Fellows within the next decade, Braven is seeking a Director of External Affairs. This crucial role will focus on expanding our corporate and philanthropic fundraising efforts in Chicago by closely collaborating with Braven’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief External Affairs Officer, and the local program team. The Director will be responsible for identifying and nurturing new prospective partners, managing existing philanthropic and employer partnerships, supporting volunteer recruitment, engaging with and enhancing the Chicago Board, interacting with the local Investor Committee, and promoting Braven’s brand.
This position is part of the External Affairs team and reports directly to the Chief External Affairs Officer.
What You’ll Do
Development (35%)
- Collaborate with the CEO, Chief External Affairs Officer, and Braven’s development team to devise the fundraising strategy for the Chicago region and execute the annual revenue game plan.
- Monitor the Chicago region’s revenue targets and overall pipeline; manage the implementation of quarterly action plans, adjusting strategies based on insights gained.
- Foster exceptional donor relationships by leading preparation and follow-up processes, participating in key regional meetings, and managing a portfolio of partnerships.
- Work with the Chief External Affairs Officer and development team to identify, assess, and cultivate new prospects; conduct research on key prospects and develop tailored cultivation strategies.
- Strategize with the Chief External Affairs Officer on engaging donors throughout the Moves Management stages and manage the execution of critical next steps, from making requests to securing commitments and effectively stewarding relationships for renewals.
