Job SummaryThe Senior Process and Commissioning Engineer will collaborate closely with the Resident Engineer and Project Manager as part of our construction supervision team, overseeing significant sewage treatment plant (STP), pumping station, and wastewater infrastructure projects in Dubai. This role emphasizes the process, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and Instrumentation, Control, and Automation (ICA) systems, ensuring adherence to design specifications, performance standards, and local authority regulations. The ideal candidate will coordinate and manage all commissioning activities to facilitate the successful start-up and handover of the facility.ResponsibilitiesLead the design and supervision of process and commissioning tasks for STPs, pumping stations, and related infrastructure, including process systems, mechanical equipment, electrical works (MV/LV), and ICA systems.Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of SCADA systems, PLCs, control panels, field instrumentation, and telemetry systems.Conduct functional and performance testing, ensuring plant start-up aligns with contractual and operational requirements.Review and provide feedback on contractor submissions, including shop drawings, commissioning plans, method statements, Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), Operations & Maintenance manuals, and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) reports.Coordinate and witness FAT and SAT for pivotal process and ICA equipment.Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, DEWA, and other relevant authority standards for process, electrical, and ICA systems.Work in close partnership with contractors to develop and implement commissioning schedules, ensuring integration among civil, mechanical, electrical, and process disciplines.Evaluate process control philosophies, P&IDs, and operating sequences to confirm accurate system configuration and functionality.Lead troubleshooting efforts during pre-commissioning and commissioning phases, proposing corrective actions as necessary.Monitor the progress of commissioning activities, report status updates to the Resident Engineer/Project Manager, and identify any potential risks or delays.Review and validate as-built documentation, including commissioning records and performance test results.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers and inspectors focused on process and commissioning supervision.Establish and maintain strong communication with clients, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth coordination and successful project delivery.
