About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic Director of Sales Development for EMEA to establish and lead OpenAI’s inaugural enterprise Sales Development team in the region. This role will report directly to the Head of Global Sales Development and will be a vital part of the Enterprise GTM leadership team.
This is an exceptional opportunity to build from the ground up. You will design the operational framework, recruit the core leadership and Sales Development Representative (SDR) teams, and define OpenAI’s approach to engaging, qualifying, and advancing enterprise opportunities. Your primary objective will be to transform product usage, pilot programs, and inbound interest into a robust pipeline of high-quality, winnable prospects for our Large Enterprise and Strategic Accounts teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish OpenAI’s first enterprise Sales Development function for EMEA, encompassing organizational design, hiring strategy, tools, and performance management.
- Develop and expand a global SDR organization focused on Large Enterprise, Strategic Accounts, and industry-specific verticals.
- Oversee the enterprise pipeline generation strategy, ensuring a steady flow of high-quality opportunities for the sales team.
- Convert product usage data, pilot activities, developer engagement, and inbound inquiries into qualified enterprise leads.
- Create tailored SDR strategies for specific verticals such as Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Retail.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Field Engineering, Marketing, Partnerships, and Strategy & Operations to create a cohesive GTM strategy.
- Develop and implement best-in-class playbooks for outbound, inbound, account-based marketing (ABM), product-led, and partner-sourced efforts.
- Establish a data-driven operational system linking SDR activities to pipeline outcomes.
