As a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant, you'll dive into the action from day one, supporting your team, comforting pet parents, and gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment. You'll be involved in triage, treatments, and all the joy that comes with tail wags. Whether you're aiming to become a credentialed technician or exploring your career options, we are committed to supporting your growth journey. WHAT YOU’LL DO Provide a warm welcome and steady support by triaging incoming patients and guiding them toward necessary care. Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics, including bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, and oxygen support. Collaborate with our skilled veterinary technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation cases. Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration. Participate in all aspects of care: from outpatient exams to inpatient treatment areas. Engage in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care. Learn CPR techniques and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided). Advance into more complex responsibilities as you grow within the role.
