Technical Knowledge/Job Summary
Proficient in understanding and applying weld symbols.
Capable of reading, interpreting, and executing blueprints and technical sketches to meet project specifications.
Skilled in executing diverse welding tasks safely and efficiently, utilizing various welding techniques and equipment.
Adept in the use of weld measurement tools and gauges.
Possess comprehensive knowledge of metal properties and the appropriate welding methods to ensure quality results.
Ability to inspect and assess finished welds for adherence to specifications and rectify defects accordingly.
Willingness to work in elevated positions (scaffolding/manlifts) and confined spaces.
On-site training will be provided.
Job Proficiency
Achieve certification in carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel fillet and butt welds using SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux Core), and GMAW-P (multi-pass) processes in 3G and 4G positions.
Complete stainless steel, Cupro-Nickel, and carbon steel pipe welds (6G).
Perform self-assessments to ensure work quality complies with industry standards.
Conduct routine maintenance on welding tools and equipment.
Execute structural welding on ship components such as hulls, decks, bulkheads, frames, and foundations.
Prepare work surfaces through grinding, cutting, and cleaning to guarantee quality welds.
Perform grinding, cutting, torching, and other related tasks as required.
Conduct weld fit-up and tacking in accordance with engineering specifications and best practices.
Demonstrate flexibility in working positions including overhead, vertical, and flat, often in tight or elevated settings.
Inspect all equipment daily (including torch, hoses, grinder, levels, tapes, etc.) to ensure optimal performance.

Adhere to all shipyard safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
