In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting physicians, nurses, and other licensed medical professionals. Your responsibilities will include ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing essential administrative tasks. You will maintain clean and safe patient care areas while promoting patient satisfaction through professional and friendly interactions, all while safeguarding patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate efficient patient flow by escorting patients to exam rooms, verifying identities, and preparing them for examinations. Accurately obtain vital signs and document the reason for visits while updating allergies, smoking history, and pharmacy information. Notify the provider and registered nurse of any significant changes in patient conditions promptly.
- Assist healthcare practitioners with medical and surgical procedures, following established protocols for tasks such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
- Ensure high-quality care by preparing and stocking exam rooms, adhering to protocols for disinfecting and sterilizing equipment. Participate in environmental safety rounds and maintain inventory of vaccines and medications.
- Actively engage with patients and the healthcare team to enhance patient satisfaction through effective communication and a positive demeanor.
- Perform delegated procedures specific to the specialty area in a safe and efficient manner.
