We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Geologist Specialist to join our team at TechConnect. In this role, you will play a crucial part in the exploration and assessment of geological resources. Your responsibilities will include:Compiling and validating exploration data provided by Wellsite Geologists to ensure accuracy and reliability.Developing and updating geological models on a quarterly basis by utilizing drilling, mapping, and sampling data.Conducting monthly and quarterly reconciliations between geological models and actual mined data to assess performance and accuracy.Preparing comprehensive internal exploration progress reports for management review.Providing external reporting, including quarterly production reports and RKAB documentation.Monitoring geological conditions within the pit, identifying anomalies in seam thickness, fault occurrences, and mined-out zones.Conducting routine in-pit mapping activities such as measuring seam thickness, strike and dip, and fault mapping, while coordinating with surveyors or utilizing total station (TS) for precise data collection.Inspecting and observing exposed coal or nickel seams to verify mine-out status and geological consistency.Monitoring discrepancies between actual coal or nickel seam conditions and geological models, especially regarding thickness variance, coal quality, dip and strike, and fault presence.
