We now boast over 1,300 talented individuals across Clubs throughout the UK and Europe, with ambitious plans for global expansion in the coming years.Join us on our mission to close the world’s digital skills gap!What You Will Contribute:Core Technical Skills:Extensive hands-on experience in backend engineering, proficient in one or more languages such as Java, Node.js, TypeScript, Python, or Go, with the flexibility to work across multiple languages as necessary.Proven track record in designing and implementing scalable, resilient, and maintainable backend systems, including REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven architectures, and distributed services.Hands-on experience with AWS (including services such as Lambda, ECS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, API Gateway, Step Functions, etc.) and a strong grasp of cloud-native patterns. Familiarity with GCP, Azure, or other cloud platforms is a plus.Solid experience in Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment methodologies.Comfortable working across the entire tech stack, contributing to frontend codebases when required, while maintaining a primary focus on backend and systems engineering.Demonstrates technical leadership by shaping architectural direction, reviewing designs, and exemplifying high-quality engineering practices.A strong foundation in system design, including trade-off analysis, performance considerations, observability, and operational readiness.Able to take ownership of complex technical challenges, make pragmatic decisions, and articulate reasoning effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.AI & Emerging Technologies:Hands-on experience integrating AI into backend systems, such as orchestrating AI services, creating AI-driven workflows, or utilizing AI tools to enhance engineering productivity.Experience in developing AI-enabled systems (including solutions based on LLM or RAG) from MVP or proof-of-concept to production-ready implementations, with an emphasis on reliability, evaluation, security, and maintainability.Ability to discern where AI can meaningfully enhance backend systems (e.g., classification, summarization, anomaly detection) as opposed to traditional algorithms.
