Join us as a Game Designer (Combat) for For Honor at Ubisoft Montreal, where you will play a pivotal role in crafting combat systems, controls, interfaces, and other interactive components that breathe life into the Creative Director’s vision and enhance the player experience. You will actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of our unique multiplayer universe, ensuring that every battle is immersive, balanced, and captures the essence of For Honor.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance combat systems that ensure fair, enjoyable, and strategic multiplayer encounters.
- Balance hero move sets, weapon interactions, and abilities to uphold competitive integrity.
- Collaborate with diverse teams to seamlessly integrate animations, controls, and special effects into combat mechanics.
- Standardize, document, and disseminate fight design specifics within the team; maintain up-to-date references.
- Prototype and rigorously test new mechanics, gathering quantitative and qualitative feedback for iterative improvement.
- Work closely with the Game Design Director to ensure alignment of combat design with the overarching creative vision.
- Partner with programmers and technical designers to create tools that facilitate combat system implementation.
- Contribute to broader game design initiatives while maintaining a focus on the multiplayer combat experience.
