You will gain hands-on experience by independently collecting construction material samples from various sites, performing tests and inspections to evaluate the properties and integrity of those materials, utilizing specialized equipment, and adhering to established procedures and standards. As a Desktop Services Engineer, you will provide exceptional technical support to both internal and external clients facing hardware and software challenges with their desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. Your role will involve troubleshooting local area network issues to maintain connectivity to the Corporate network, collaborating with Infrastructure and Messaging teams as needed to promptly resolve incidents. You will ensure that support is delivered in a timely manner, adhering to published Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while consistently achieving high customer satisfaction.Your responsibilities will include:Delivering Level-2 technical support for desktops, laptops, and peripherals.Resolving hardware issues by coordinating with OEM vendors.Managing returns for warranted parts and systems.Packaging and shipping replacement parts to customers.Maintaining standard software configurations, including troubleshooting and loading software images, applications, and drivers.Participating in IT and infrastructure project development as needed.Installing, supporting, and troubleshooting approved desktop software.Conducting planned maintenance, moves, adds, and changes.Providing support to employees facing technical problems through local personnel or network remote access (VPN).Timely resolution of issues or escalation to appropriate technical staff.Exercising sound judgment within defined procedures to determine necessary actions.Creating and maintaining system images.Recommending hardware and software solutions, including acquisitions and upgrades.Demonstrating good judgment in selecting solutions.Utilizing your expertise as a seasoned professional with comprehensive knowledge of industry practices and company policies.Working independently with minimal supervision.Being available for on-call support after hours when necessary.Effectively communicating with customers and co-workers, including consulting with the Service Desk on support calls and providing updates on case status.Offering phone support and diagnostics to remote customers.Participating in training programs to educate customers on applications.Documenting and implementing standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines related to desktop support.
