About the Position:
We seek candidates who can significantly contribute to one or more of the following areas:
- HCF Optimization & Engineering: Advancing fiber design to achieve low loss, broad bandwidth, and mechanical durability for industrial applications.
- Specialized Components: Creating HCF-compatible connectors, couplers, amplifiers, and technologies that interface HCF with standard single-mode fibers (SMF).
- System Transmission & Optimization: Implementing high-capacity transmission experiments and refining modulation formats tailored to the unique attributes of HCF.
- Performance Monitoring & Sensing: Innovating real-time monitoring techniques and utilizing HCF for advanced sensing applications within communication frameworks.
Independently initiate and lead impactful research projects.
Employ existing tools or develop new methodologies to simulate fiber structures and evaluate system performance.
Design and construct experimental testbeds to validate theoretical models and prototype new devices.
Prepare high-quality technical reports, grant proposals, and manuscripts for prestigious journals and conferences.
The total target annual compensation for this role ranges from $106,000 to $156,000, contingent on education and experience.
