This position is pivotal in assisting healthcare providers with inquiries related to coding, billing, and navigating complex reimbursement challenges. Additionally, the specialist manages an assigned caseload for Prior Authorizations (PA) and facilitates the appeals process to ensure patient access to necessary medications.
- Ensure compliance with company protocols and organizational standards while delivering exceptional service quality.
- Conduct thorough benefit investigations by engaging with payers to verify patient insurance benefits, identify reimbursement obstacles, and explore resources to overcome these barriers.
- Document and verify specific patient benefits, including coverage details, cost-sharing, and provider access options.
- Identify coverage limitations and strategize on expediting patient access.
- Initiate and document the prior authorization and claims appeal processes.
- Report any reimbursement trends or coverage delays to management.
- Act as a liaison between field representatives, healthcare providers, and patients.
