PROGRAM OVERVIEW:The Aspire program focuses on flexibility, personalized attention, and integration within the community. It offers diverse experiences both at the Goodwill facility and in the local community. Participants select from various curriculum-based modules tailored to their interests, promoting their independence and engagement in community life and employment opportunities.Modules include: computer literacy, career exploration, self-care and advocacy, financial literacy, recreational activities, wellness, cooking and nutrition, art and music, adult basic special education, volunteering, managing an apartment, transportation and mobility, and much more.POSITION SUMMARY:As the Program Assistant for Aspire, your primary responsibility will be to support program participants in enhancing their community integration and employability skills by facilitating engaging learning activities, coaching, and mentoring. Key responsibilities include implementing participant goals and tracking their progress effectively. A valid driver’s license is mandatory.Key Responsibilities:Deliver direct support to participants through teaching and mentoring, focusing on skill development as per the established curriculum and activities. This includes coaching on daily living and employment skills, fostering social interactions with community members to cultivate natural supports, and promoting greater independence and potential transitional employment.Design and facilitate new activities, both in the community and at the facility, that align with participants’ needs and facilitate the achievement of individual program goals.Provide transportation for participants to enable their involvement in community-based activities.Collect, document, and report program data as required to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.Ensure the safety and well-being of participants and the facility.External Hiring Range: $13.50 to $14.04 per hourSchedule: Monday – Friday (8:00 AM - 3:30 PM); schedule may vary based on department needs.Travel Requirement: Yes, staff may be required to transport program participants in Goodwill vehicles for volunteering and community enrichment activities.
